End of Term Reflection

For this drawing and painting class, I think that I did well.  My favorite drawing/painting that I did was one of my free draw/painting.  It was the ocean painting with the whale tail.  I liked it because I used more color than I usually do and I got to experiment with my own art style.  What I really liked about this art class is that I could sort of do what I want with the projects we were assigned to do and make our own art with it.  The biggest success for me like I said already was the whale and the ocean painting.  I feel that I could have put more effort into the candy painting. I got a little bored by the whole thing.  I really think that I have changed my artistic talents with painting and drawing because of Ms. Roberts.  She told me good techniques and taught me very well on how to paint and draw carefully.  Another thing is that this art class was good for me because it let me spill my artistic talent out onto the paper and I can express myself when I do my own art.

For this project, I chose to do global warming.  I wanted people to see the way that global warming is affecting everyone and everything.  I like how I left the the polar bear white and the rest of the picture is colored.

For this project, I liked doing it because it reminded me of when I went to Argentina.  I found it difficult though to blend in the colored pencils.  My intention was to get people to understand how beautiful Argentina really is and for them to appreciate it.

For the candy project, it was a bit frustrating at times because I couldn't get the right color for the candy or the paper and I would keep trying over and over again.  It was fun to experiment with the paint though.  I also got a little bored doing this project because it seemed like I was repeating the steps over again.  I thought my project came out okay, but I was hoping for a more realistic looking painting.

Planning for the News Story Project

For my theme I chose change, and in that theme I am drawing about Global Warming.  I chose this issue because it is something that everyone should be thinking about and something that we definitely need to change.  I find this topic interesting and a good learning experience.  The theme change relates to the topic because like I said we all need to think about it and put all of our effort into saving our planet.  

Drawing from Observation

When I was drawing the items on the table, I felt a little frustrated trying to get the things in the right spot and the right size.  It all felt natural to me.  Like I said it was a bit frustrating at first.  I didn't really like the way my drawings came out but I'm sure I can do it better.
